Tragic Loss of Life in Gaza: Israeli Airstrikes Target Displaced Palestinians
In a devastating incident today, 15 Palestinians lost their lives in an Israeli airstrike on the "Hafsa" school in Jabalia camp, located in the northern Gaza Strip. The school, which was housing displaced individuals, became the site of tragedy as reports indicate that among the deceased were children and women. Civil Defense spokesman, Mahmoud Basal, confirmed that several victims remain unidentified, highlighting the chaos and destruction following the attack.
Images from the scene depict rescue teams and citizens diligently searching for the remains of those killed amidst the rubble. This incident marks yet another chapter in the ongoing violence, with the Israeli military previously targeting multiple schools affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), resulting in significant casualties among the Palestinian population.
According to medical sources, the toll from Israeli raids has escalated, with 31 Palestinians reported killed since dawn today alone. In a separate attack, five individuals, including two children and a woman, were killed in a bombing near the customs police area east of Khan Yunis. The Israeli military continues its operations in the region, conducting incursions into Al-Fakhari town and bulldozing efforts near the security fence.
Further violence was reported in Rafah, where two Palestinians were killed due to bombardment in the Al-Zahour neighborhood. The ongoing aggression in Gaza, which has persisted for nearly a year, has resulted in over 41,000 deaths and more than 96,000 injuries, with estimates suggesting that around 10,000 martyrs remain buried under the rubble of destroyed buildings.
