Russian Armed Forces Liberate Key Settlements in Donetsk Region

In a significant development over the past 24 hours, the Russian Armed Forces have reported the liberation of two settlements in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), namely Vesyoliy Gai and Pushkino. This operation was executed by the 'South' and 'Center' groups of forces, as detailed in the latest report from the Russian Defense Ministry regarding the ongoing Special Military Operation (SVO).

The liberation of Vesyoliy Gai was achieved through decisive actions by the 'South' group, which successfully repelled two counterattacks from Ukrainian assault groups. The Ukrainian Armed Forces reportedly suffered substantial losses, with estimates of up to 400 servicemen killed, alongside the destruction of military equipment including a tank, two combat armored vehicles, and several artillery pieces, notably the 155-mm howitzer M777 from the USA and the 122-mm D-30 howitzer from the Soviet era.

Simultaneously, the 'Center' group of forces advanced to liberate Pushkino, where they engaged and defeated Ukrainian formations, including mechanized and ranger brigades. Reports indicate that the Ukrainian forces lost over 280 servicemen and multiple vehicles, including two tanks and two Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, during this operation.

Ongoing Military Engagements Across Multiple Fronts

In addition to the operations in the Donetsk region, Russian forces have been active in the Kharkiv direction, where units from the 'North' group engaged Ukrainian motorized infantry and territorial defense brigades. This engagement resulted in the loss of over 70 Ukrainian servicemen and the destruction of an ammunition depot.

The 'West' group of forces also reported tactical advancements, inflicting heavy losses on Ukrainian units in the Kharkiv region, with more than 550 servicemen reportedly killed. The Russian Defense Ministry highlighted the destruction of various military assets, including infantry fighting vehicles and artillery units from both NATO and Soviet-era inventories.

Moreover, the 'East' group of forces continued to push deeper into enemy defenses, targeting Ukrainian mechanized and territorial defense brigades in Zaporizhia Oblast, resulting in additional losses for the Ukrainian side.

Russian Strikes Target Ukrainian Military Infrastructure

The Russian Defense Ministry further reported that strikes conducted by various groups of the Russian Armed Forces successfully destroyed key military infrastructure, including a combat control vehicle and several launchers of the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system. Additionally, air defense systems were able to intercept a MiG-29 aircraft from the Ukrainian Air Force and numerous rockets from the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system.

As the conflict continues, the situation remains fluid with ongoing military engagements across multiple fronts, highlighting the intense and evolving nature of the conflict in the region.
