The Russian Defense Ministry has confirmed the liberation of Yasnaya Polyana, a settlement in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), by the Vostok military group. This announcement comes amidst ongoing military operations in the region, where Russian forces have reported significant engagements against Ukrainian troops. The liberation of Yasnaya Polyana is part of a broader offensive, with Russian units actively engaging and defeating Ukrainian formations in various locations.
Significant Ukrainian Losses Reported
In their daily report, the Russian military detailed substantial losses inflicted upon Ukrainian forces. In addition to the liberation of Yasnaya Polyana, Russian troops reportedly defeated elements of the 58th motorized infantry and 152nd ranger brigades near Velikaya Novosyolka and Razdolnoye, resulting in enemy losses of approximately 100 servicemen and significant military equipment, including two armored combat vehicles and a French CAESAR self-propelled artillery unit.
Furthermore, the North group of forces engaged Ukrainian brigades in the Kharkov region, resulting in the loss of 55 Ukrainian servicemen and multiple pieces of military hardware, including howitzers and vehicles. The Southern Group of Forces also reported advancing into enemy defenses, leading to the defeat of various Ukrainian brigades and an estimated loss of 810 enemy servicemen along with a range of military equipment.
Ongoing Military Operations and Air Defense Successes
The report highlights continued military operations across multiple fronts, with Russian forces claiming to have improved tactical positions and inflicted further losses on Ukrainian brigades in the DPR and Kherson region. The Dnepr group of forces reported engaging the 110th Mechanized Brigade and other territorial defense units, resulting in additional enemy casualties and destroyed military assets.
In terms of air defense, Russian systems successfully intercepted numerous incoming threats, including 11 HIMARS rockets and 95 UAVs, showcasing the ongoing intensity of the conflict.
