Israel Confirms Losses in Ongoing Lebanon Conflict
The Israeli army has officially acknowledged the deaths of two officers and three soldiers in recent clashes in Lebanon, bringing the total number of Israeli fatalities in the conflict to 15 over the past two days. The military has also reported that 88 soldiers have been injured during these engagements. In response to escalating tensions, the Israeli army has conducted several air raids across Lebanon and has urged residents from 14 towns to evacuate north of the Awali River.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health has reported significant casualties on its side, confirming that 14 individuals were killed due to Israeli airstrikes in the towns of Harat Saida and Burj al-Shamali. Since the onset of hostilities on October 8, 2023, the toll of Lebanese fatalities has reached 2,672, with over 12,468 individuals wounded.
Hezbollah's Military Actions and Warnings
In retaliation, Hezbollah has intensified its military operations, claiming responsibility for numerous attacks against Israeli military positions and settlements. The group released footage purportedly showing its efforts to thwart an Israeli incursion near the towns of Taybeh and Rab Thalatheen along the southern border. Hezbollah has issued urgent evacuation warnings to residents of the Israeli settlement of Kiryat Shmona, following previous alerts to 25 other settlements in the area.
On Sunday, Hezbollah targeted various Israeli military installations, including a military industries base and several settlements, as part of a broader offensive consisting of 29 separate attacks. Notably, a squadron of suicide drones was deployed against the Udifat Military Industries Company, resulting in injuries to two individuals in Israel from shrapnel caused by a drone attack. The Israeli military has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident as air defenses reportedly failed to intercept the drone before it struck its target.
In southern Lebanon, Hezbollah fighters have successfully engaged Israeli infantry forces with guided missiles, causing both casualties and damage to military assets. The group has also launched a barrage of rockets targeting multiple Israeli settlements, including Kiryat Shmona, Nahariya, and others in northern Israel.
