Israeli Airstrikes Intensify in Lebanon Amid Ongoing Conflict
The Israeli military has conducted a series of airstrikes on Lebanon, with reports indicating that over 120 raids took place within a 24-hour period. Targeting various locations, including villages in southern Lebanon and the suburbs of Beirut, these strikes have resulted in significant destruction and loss of life. According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, the death toll has tragically risen to 2,653, with more than 12,360 individuals reported injured since the onset of hostilities on October 8, 2023.
Israeli forces have specifically targeted areas such as Dibbin and Beit Salibi, with incendiary bombs causing fires in southern Beirut. The raids have also included strikes around Baalbek and the Shebaa region, contributing to the escalating violence in the region.
Hezbollah's Counterattacks and Escalation of Tensions
In response to the Israeli airstrikes, Hezbollah has launched its own operations against Israeli targets. The group claimed to have successfully targeted Israeli military gatherings and facilities, including the Tel Nof air base and the Mishar intelligence headquarters, utilizing guided missiles and drone strikes.
Hezbollah has also warned residents in 25 Israeli settlements to evacuate, citing these areas as being used by Israeli forces to launch attacks against Lebanon. The situation remains tense, with sirens sounding across northern Israel and reports of injuries from drone strikes in areas like Karmiel and Acre.
As the conflict escalates, the Israeli military has reported casualties among its soldiers, with 15 fatalities and numerous injuries in recent days. The ongoing clashes highlight the precarious security situation in the region, as both sides continue to engage in retaliatory actions, raising concerns about a broader conflict.
