Hezbollah's Tactical Missile Strategy Amid Ongoing Conflict
Military expert Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi recently discussed Hezbollah's evolving strategies in its missile engagements with Israel. He noted that the militant group has effectively restored its political and operational balance, which is crucial in the ongoing conflict. Al-Duwairi highlighted the dual approach Hezbollah employs, utilizing qualitative missiles both horizontally and vertically to manage its defensive operations, particularly in areas south of the Litani River.
Hezbollah's units, particularly the Nasr and Aziz, are reportedly managing a defensive battle aimed at maximizing the impact of their missile capabilities. The group has showcased its missile launch facility,

to demonstrate its operational capabilities. Al-Duwairi explained that Hezbollah's strategy includes launching missile barrages that coincide with drone operations, effectively distracting Israeli defense systems like the Iron Dome. This tactic allows their drones to penetrate deeper into Israeli territory, reaching targets as far as 150 kilometers away.
Targeting Israeli Military Infrastructure
The military expert pointed out that Hezbollah has escalated its missile attacks, launching around 100 rockets daily, employing both new and existing missile technology. He emphasized the group's focus on Israeli military bases and facilities that support military operations. Recent targets have included the Glilot base, Palmachim Air Base, and various logistics bases in northern Israel. Al-Duwairi noted that while Hezbollah is aggressive in its targeting, it remains cautious not to provoke significant retaliation from Israel, particularly in sensitive areas like Haifa and southern Beirut.
Al-Duwairi concluded that while Hezbollah cannot defeat the Israeli army in conventional warfare, its strategy of survival and deterrence is key to its perceived success in the conflict. Since late September, Israel has intensified its military operations against Hezbollah, expanding air strikes throughout Lebanon and initiating ground incursions, leading to a complex and escalating situation in the region.
