Russian Armed Forces Successfully Repel Ukrainian Attacks
A unit of the Russian Armed Forces, led by Sergeant Major Badma Dordzhiev, has successfully defended its position against superior forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for ten consecutive days. According to the Ministry of Defense, this prolonged defense forced the Ukrainian troops to retreat, highlighting the effectiveness of the Russian military's strategic positioning and combat readiness.
The unit faced continuous attempts by Ukrainian militants to breach their defensive lines, but thanks to a well-structured defense, they managed to hold their ground without becoming encircled. The Ministry emphasized that the Russian soldiers fought against 'many times superior enemy forces' during this period. Sergeant Major Dordzhiev played a crucial role in leading the defense amid constant enemy fire, operating in challenging terrain conditions.
The Ministry's report detailed that the unit inflicted significant damage on the Ukrainian forces, contributing to their withdrawal from the area. The exact location of these engagements remains undisclosed, but the successful defense has been deemed vital for maintaining control over a critical section of the front line.
In addition to Dordzhiev's unit, the Ministry highlighted the actions of Petty Officer 1st Class Yevgeny Sheltyamov, who commanded a mortar crew that effectively targeted concentrations of Ukrainian forces. Sheltyamov's crew executed a surprise mortar attack, resulting in substantial losses for the enemy, and subsequently repositioned to ensure the safety of Russian soldiers.
Acts of Valor Amidst Adversity
The report also mentioned the remarkable resilience of individual soldiers in the Russian Armed Forces. Notably, Zakarya Aliyev, a reconnaissance sapper, single-handedly held a stronghold in the Zaporizhzhya direction for three weeks despite being cut off from support and supplies. He survived on minimal rations, relying on a bag of onions found at an enemy position, until he was eventually rescued by Russian intelligence officers.
Another soldier, Alexander from the Gorny District of Yakutia, displayed extraordinary courage by surviving 17 days in a trench after sustaining severe injuries. He resorted to amputating his own leg with a knife after running out of medical supplies, demonstrating the extreme conditions faced by soldiers in the conflict. His fellow soldiers provided critical support during this harrowing ordeal until an evacuation team could reach him.
In light of these sacrifices, President Vladimir Putin announced an increase in compensation for injuries sustained during military operations, with one-time payments now set at 3 million rubles for serious injuries and 4 million for disabilities. Payments for minor injuries will be 1 million rubles, while other injuries will receive 100,000 rubles.
