Moscow is set to experience a warm weekend with temperatures reaching up to +12 °C, while St. Petersburg may enjoy a late Indian summer with highs around +15 °C.

Moscow's Weather Forecast: A Warm Weekend Ahead

As the weekend approaches, Moscow residents can expect a significant rise in temperatures, with daytime highs reaching up to +12 °C. Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo forecasting center, indicated that the air temperature is projected to stay above +10 °C into the following week. This change comes after a brief period of frosty conditions expected on Thursday night and Friday, with daytime temperatures hovering around +8 to +9 °C.

Shuvalov explained that the upcoming warm weather is due to a shift in atmospheric conditions, with a western wind and rising pressure leading to milder nights and pleasant daytime temperatures ranging from +9 to +11 °C. He assured that this cycle of warm, dry weather will persist through the week, with no precipitation expected until at least mid-next week.

Similarly, Tatyana Pozdnyakova from Meteonovosti echoed these sentiments, noting that while some areas might experience cool nights with temperatures dipping to slightly negative values, the overall trend will be towards warmth and sunshine. She emphasized that the anticipated anticyclonic weather pattern would keep conditions dry, allowing Muscovites to enjoy a reprieve from the recent cold snap.

In contrast, St. Petersburg is also set to experience favorable weather, with chief forecaster Alexander Kolesov suggesting the possibility of a late Indian summer. He reported that high atmospheric pressure is influencing the region, and daytime temperatures could soar to +11 to +15 °C over the next few days, although light rain may occur in some areas. Kolesov's observations indicate that current atmospheric conditions align with those seen during the Indian summer of 2018, hinting at a warm spell ahead.
