Tragic Discovery: Missing Tourist Plane Found in Tuscany
A small tourist plane that had been missing since Tuesday morning in the Apennines has been tragically found by a team from the Alpine Rescue. The aircraft was located in a ridge area in Tuscany, specifically within the municipality of Fivizzano (Massa Carrara), just a few meters from the border with Emilia-Romagna. Unfortunately, all three passengers, who were French nationals, were confirmed dead.
The plane took off from Paolucci airport in Pavullo, Modena, and was en route to France when it disappeared. The last known position of the aircraft was noted to be between the provinces of Parma, Reggio Emilia, Lucca, and Massa-Carrara. The search operations, which were hampered by adverse weather conditions including rain and high winds, involved both air and ground teams from the Alpine Rescue services of Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany.
Despite the challenging conditions, the search efforts were intense, with the Air Force deploying aircraft and rescue teams scouring the mountainous terrain. The recovery operations are still ongoing, as authorities work to conclude the efforts in this difficult environment.
