The Israeli army has confirmed the killing of Hashem Safieddine, the head of Hezbollah's executive council, during a raid conducted three weeks ago in the southern suburbs of Beirut. This operation also reportedly resulted in the deaths of other key military leaders within Hezbollah, including Ali Hussein Hazima, the commander of Hezbollah's intelligence, along with over 25 other members of the organization. Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi stated that the operation was a significant blow to Hezbollah, claiming that the Israeli forces know how to target those who threaten the security of Israeli citizens.
The raid took place in the Marija area, where it was reported that Safieddine was in an underground command post at the time of the attack. Following the strikes, a Lebanese security source confirmed that Hezbollah had lost contact with Safieddine, indicating the severity of the Israeli operation. The Israeli army's spokesman for Arab media, Avichay Adraee, provided details on the operation through social media, highlighting the presence of high-ranking Hezbollah members during the raid.
