Houthi Leader Declares Ongoing Support for Gaza with Missile Strikes
Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, the leader of the Ansar Allah group, has emphasized the continuation of military operations aimed at supporting the Gaza Strip. In a recent televised address, Al-Houthi revealed that his forces have launched a series of attacks using 15 ballistic and winged missiles, as well as drones, targeting vessels associated with the United States, Britain, and Israel. This week’s operations are part of what he termed the 'battle of the promised conquest and the holy jihad.'
Al-Houthi reported a significant toll, claiming that 73 individuals have become martyrs and 181 others have been wounded in the ongoing conflict, although he did not specify how many were civilians or military personnel. He criticized the broader Arab community for its lack of support for Palestine, stating, 'Our people are offering sacrifices and martyrs in confirmation of their support for Gaza.'
In response to the Houthi actions, the US Central Command (Centcom) confirmed the destruction of three boats, two drones, and a missile launch pad associated with the Houthis in Yemen. This comes amidst a backdrop of escalating tensions, with the Houthis targeting cargo ships linked to Israel across various international waters, including the Red Sea and Mediterranean Sea. The group has declared that it considers all American and British ships military targets, intensifying the conflict in the region.
The ongoing violence has been exacerbated by the war waged by Israel on the Gaza Strip, which has resulted in a staggering number of casualties, including over 132,000 Palestinians reported as martyrs and wounded, with many being women and children. The international community is closely monitoring the situation as the US-led coalition continues its airstrikes against Houthi positions in Yemen, aiming to counter the group's military advancements.
