FIFA has officially announced the new format for the FIFA Club World Cup, set to take place in the United States from June 15 to July 13, 2025. The tournament will feature 32 teams and will be hosted in 12 world-class stadiums across 11 cities, marking a significant expansion from previous editions. FIFA President Gianni Infantino emphasized the tournament's innovative and inclusive nature, stating that the new trophy embodies the spirit of global football and its rich history.
The trophy, crafted in collaboration with Tiffany & Co., is made of 24-carat gold and features intricate laser-engraved designs, including a world map and the names of FIFA's 211 member associations. It also includes inscriptions in 13 languages, including Braille, highlighting FIFA's commitment to inclusivity. The design draws inspiration from the Golden Voyager plaque, symbolizing both the past and future of football, and incorporates elements from astronomy and early exploratory maps.
