Tragedy in Paris: Father Throws Children Out of Window Before Committing Suicide
Forty-eight hours after a tragic incident in Paris, the condition of the two children, aged 2 and 4, remains under surveillance. The children, who were thrown out of a fifth-floor window by their father on Saturday evening, are no longer in life-threatening condition, according to the prosecution. The father, a 49-year-old man, committed suicide shortly after the incident.
Investigation and Community Shock
The prosecution has opened an investigation for attempted murder of minors under 15 years old and for research into the causes of death concerning the father. The case has been entrusted to the minor protection brigade of the Paris judicial police. According to initial findings, the father's actions were likely triggered by an argument with his partner. A resident of the ten-story building where the family lived expressed shock, stating, 'It’s shocking, a lot of us are going to be shocked.'
Community and Psychological Support
Witnesses reported that children were playing on the lawn where the two victims fell. A medical-psychological emergency unit (CUMP) has been activated to provide support to those affected by the incident. Neighbors described the family as relatively new to the area, having moved in just a year ago. They recalled the father as 'always smiling' and noted they had never heard any arguments within the couple.
- The incident took place around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday in the 14th arrondissement of Paris. The children were immediately taken to the hospital with a life-threatening prognosis, which has since improved.
- The father’s actions have left the community in a state of shock and disbelief. Neighbors and residents are struggling to come to terms with the tragedy, especially given the father’s previously friendly demeanor.
- The medical-psychological emergency unit (CUMP) aims to provide necessary psychological support to those affected, helping them cope with the emotional aftermath of the incident.
