Discover Turkey's rich underwater heritage as Kocaeli prepares to unveil its Underwater Archaeology Park, showcasing ancient artifacts and offering diving enthusiasts a unique exploration opportunity.

Excavation and digging work began in the Gulf of Karpe in 2020 under the auspices of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and under the supervision of a team of archaeologists specializing in underwater research.

The Turkish province of Kocaeli, overlooking the Black Sea, is preparing to open the "Underwater Archaeology Park", to display archaeological and cultural finds discovered in the depths to diving enthusiasts.

Turkish archaeologists conducted the "Underwater Excavations, Digging and Research in the Gulf of Karpe" in Kocaeli (northwest), the first underwater archaeological excavations in the country, and were able to discover many artifacts and cultural artifacts.

The "Submerged Archaeology Park" was launched to attract tourists and diving enthusiasts to explore the rich layers of archaeology under the water.
