Erdogan's Strong Condemnation of Israel's Actions
In a recent press conference at the G20 summit in Brazil, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused Israel of engaging in "state terrorism" against the Palestinian people. He emphasized that Turkey will continue to support the oppressed and condemned the increasing human cost of Israel's actions, which he claims are backed by Western powers. Erdogan expressed disappointment over the global community's response, stating, "The world has not yet taken the position we were waiting for against Israel's injustice." He reaffirmed Turkey's commitment to this cause, indicating that even if Turkey stands alone, it will not waver in its support for the oppressed.
Erdogan highlighted the importance of solidarity among nations and called for more countries to recognize the State of Palestine. He criticized the UN Security Council for serving the interests of only its five permanent members rather than protecting the rights of all 193 member states. "History will not forgive those who remain silent, under any pretext, regarding this violence and this escalating pace of brutality," he warned, urging a collective stance against injustice.
Calls for Peace and Ceasefire in Global Conflicts
In addition to his remarks on Israel, Erdogan addressed the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, expressing hope for a ceasefire. He stated, "We cannot say that a war in which nuclear weapons are used has a positive side," reflecting on the serious implications of nuclear warfare. Erdogan called for a swift resolution to the conflict, emphasizing the need for peace that the world is eagerly awaiting. He also expressed optimism that the new US administration would take more decisive actions towards fostering peace in the region.
