Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized the significance of Turkey's defense industry, referring to it as the nation's pride on the global stage. Speaking at the Turkish Presidential Complex in Ankara, he addressed a recent terrorist attack on the TUSAS Defense Industries Company, asserting that the timing and target of the attack were not coincidental. The incident occurred as he attended the BRICS summit in Kazan, leading him to suggest that it was a calculated move to disrupt Turkey's political climate.
Erdogan condemned the attack as a reflection of panic and confusion among terrorist groups, stating that Turkey would not succumb to threats from such organizations. He highlighted the swift military response following the attack, where Turkish forces targeted over 470 locations linked to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in Syria and Iraq, resulting in the neutralization of 213 terrorists. Erdogan reiterated that terrorism would not influence Turkish policy or unity among its citizens.
