Charbel Dagher, a prominent Lebanese poet and researcher, has been awarded the prestigious Abu al-Qasim al-Shabi Prize in Tunisia for his remarkable collection of poems titled "Prose Washes in Its River." The award ceremony, held on November 23, 2024, marked the 30th session of this esteemed literary accolade, which recognizes significant contributions to Arabic literature. The prize, valued at 25,000 Tunisian dinars, was awarded by a jury that praised Dagher's work for its unique poetic and cognitive structure, lively language, and innovative approach to literary genres.

Recognition of Literary Excellence

The jury, chaired by Tunisian poet Moncef Al-Wahaibi, selected Dagher's collection from a competitive pool of 43 submissions, narrowing it down to a shortlist of three. In addition to Dagher's win, the jury honored Tunisian writer Abdel Majid Charfi with an appreciation award for his extensive body of work, acknowledging his contributions to modernist thought and the exploration of contemporary issues in the Arab-Islamic context.
