Violence Escalates in Tubas: A Martyr and Arrests in the West Bank
On November 9, 2024, a young Palestinian man, identified as Adham Zayed Ezzat Al-Masry, was killed by Israeli occupation forces in the town of Aqaba, located in the city of Tubas, northern West Bank. The incident occurred during a military operation where the forces surrounded Al-Masry's family home, resulting in his death and injuries to two others. The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that one of the injured individuals, a 50-year-old man, was critically wounded after being shot in the chest. Another man, aged 49, sustained bruises from the attack. The Israeli forces also utilized an

anti-tank shell to bombard the besieged house.
The Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, claimed that its fighters engaged in fierce battles with the Israeli forces during the operation, targeting infantry and sniper positions.
In addition to the violence in Tubas, Israeli forces arrested at least 18 Palestinians across the West Bank, including a woman who was later released. Reports indicate that the arrests were widespread, with many citizens subjected to field investigations and threats. The Palestinian Prisoners Club noted that over 11,600 citizens have been arrested in the West Bank since the onset of the current conflict.
Settler Attacks on Palestinian Olive Pickers
In related news, settlers in the village of Burin, south of Nablus, attacked Palestinian olive pickers, forcibly removing them from their lands and stealing their harvest. The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission highlighted that there have been 239 reported attacks against olive pickers this year, including 109 incidents where access to their lands was denied.
These violent incidents come amid a broader context of escalating violence in the region, with the Israeli military operations and settler attacks intensifying. Since October 7, 2023, the conflict has led to the deaths of 779 Palestinians and approximately 6,300 injuries, alongside a devastating humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where over 146,000 Palestinians have been reported as martyrs or wounded, many of whom are women and children.
