Israeli Forces Conduct Raids and Clashes in the West Bank
Israeli occupation forces have intensified their operations in the West Bank, launching a series of raids and clashing with resistance fighters in Tubas. Reports indicate that this morning, occupation forces stormed various cities and towns, including Tubas, leading to violent confrontations. The Tubas Battalion of the Al-Quds Brigades claimed responsibility for engaging the Israeli forces at key locations, firing heavy volleys at military vehicles and reportedly achieving direct hits.
Arrest Campaigns and Civilian Impact
In addition to the clashes, Israeli forces conducted widespread arrest campaigns across the West Bank. In Balata camp, east of Nablus, two young men were arrested after their home was besieged. Reports also detailed raids in the villages of Rojib, Beit Dajan, and Beit Furik, where numerous arrests were made. In Hebron, occupation forces raided Al-Arroub camp, assaulting residents and using pepper spray on families in Yatta, resulting in the arrests of six citizens during operations in the Deheishe and Doha camps in Bethlehem. The raids extended to Qalandia camp, north of occupied Jerusalem.
Rising Casualties Amidst Ongoing Conflict
These developments come in the wake of a prolonged military operation in Jenin, which lasted eight hours and resulted in the deaths of two young men and injuries to four others. Eyewitness accounts describe the intense military presence, including bulldozers and heavy demolition vehicles entering Jenin camp. The escalation in the West Bank coincides with the ongoing conflict in Gaza, where Israeli military actions since October 7, 2023, have resulted in a staggering death toll of over 140,000 Palestinians, alongside significant destruction and humanitarian crises. Official Palestinian data reports a total of 754 fatalities and approximately 6,250 injuries in the West Bank alone, highlighting the severe impact of the conflict on civilian populations.
