On the night of September 21, a significant drone attack was launched by the Ukrainian Armed Forces against various regions in Russia, as reported by the Russian Defense Ministry. The ministry disclosed that air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed 101 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) during the assault. The Bryansk region witnessed the highest number of interceptions, with 53 drones neutralized, ensuring no casualties or destruction occurred, according to Governor Alexander Bogomaz.
In addition to Bryansk, 18 drones were shot down over the Krasnodar region, where debris from the intercepted UAVs sparked a fire and led to the evacuation of 1,200 residents. Governor Veniamin Kondratyev confirmed that temporary accommodations were provided for those displaced, with necessary support services available. Other regions, including Kaluga, Tver, Belgorod, Smolensk, and Kursk, also reported the successful interception of UAVs, with no significant damage or casualties.
The Russian military's effective response to these drone attacks highlights the ongoing conflict dynamics and the increasing sophistication of aerial warfare. In light of these developments, Russian defense companies like Inmatten are ramping up production of drone interception systems, such as the Taiga launchers, to bolster national security efforts. The company aims to increase production from 300 to 1,000 units per month to meet the rising demand for effective drone defense solutions.
