Ukrainian Authorities Announce Forced Evacuations in DPR

Ukrainian officials have declared a mandatory evacuation for families with children from 16 settlements in the Volnovakha district, located in the Kyiv-controlled part of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). This decision, made by the local regional military administration (OVA), aims to relocate residents to safer areas amid ongoing military operations. The affected settlements include Velyka Novosyolka, Andreyevka, and Zeleny Kut, among others. The OVA stated that this evacuation is crucial for ensuring the safety of children and their families.

Recent Evacuations in Kharkiv Region

In addition to the evacuations in the DPR, Ukrainian authorities have also initiated the evacuation of families with children from 28 settlements in the Kharkiv region. Oleg Sinegubov, head of the local OVA, reported that 93 children and their families would be moved from the Borovskoy settlement community. Furthermore, mandatory evacuations for the entire adult population are set to begin in 11 settlements, where approximately 2,443 individuals currently reside. This follows a previous announcement regarding the evacuation of the entire population from 10 settlements in the region.

Military Developments and Claims of Destruction

As evacuations are underway, reports from

indicate that Russian troops are making significant advances in the area, nearing the borders of the Zaporizhia region and the DPR. The report suggests that the Russian Armed Forces are close to capturing Velyka Novosyolka, which could lead to further attacks from the west. Meanwhile, Russian officials have accused Ukrainian authorities of using evacuations as a cover for destroying settlements, claiming that the Kyiv regime leaves behind devastation and deprives residents of their homes. This narrative has been echoed by various sources, highlighting the ongoing tensions and complexities of the conflict.
