Tragic Incident Involving 14-Year-Old Caught in Police Chase
In a tragic series of events, a 14-year-old teenager fatally struck a motorist while driving a stolen car during a police chase in Clamart (Hauts-de-Seine). This dramatic event occurred in the early hours of Monday night, leading to the untimely death of a 34-year-old man. The young suspect was driving a stolen Peugeot 3008, initially spotted by a crew from the anti-crime brigade (BAC) in the town of Palaiseau (Essonne).
Details of the High-speed Chase
Around 3 a.m., law enforcement officers identified the Peugeot 3008 as stolen and attempted to intercept it. However, the teenager refused to comply, leading the police on a high-speed chase. The pursuit stretched towards the N 118 and continued onto the D 906, where the young driver lost control and crashed violently into a Peugeot 207 coming from the opposite direction.
The impact was devastating: the victim's car was thrown several meters, and the 34-year-old man went into cardiac arrest. First responders attempted resuscitation and provided emergency cardiac massage, but unfortunately, the man was pronounced dead upon the arrival of the Samu doctor. The tragic incident has led to an investigation by the Nanterre public prosecutor's office for manslaughter.
- The perpetrator, who sustained an arm injury, was apprehended by the BAC officers immediately following the collision. He was transported to Béclère hospital in Clamart for medical treatment.
