The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced today, Saturday, the martyrdom of a Palestinian paramedic in Israeli occupation prisons after his arrest from the Nasser Medical Complex in the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Strip, last February.
The ministry said in a statement, coinciding with World First Aid Day, 'It has been confirmed that paramedic Hamdan Abu Anaba was martyred inside the occupation's prisons. He and his colleagues were arrested while performing his work at Nasser Medical Complex.'
The Ministry called on the UN and human rights organizations to reveal the fate of dozens of health workers who were kidnapped from hospitals while performing their humanitarian duty.
Since the beginning of the Israeli war on the Strip, more than 885 medical personnel have been martyred, and 310 others have been arrested, according to previous statements by the Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Munir al-Barash.
