A tourist boat named 'Sea Story' sank in Egypt's Red Sea, with 16 survivors rescued and search efforts ongoing for the remaining passengers.


A tourist boat carrying 45 people, named "Sea Story," sank in the Marsa Alam area of Egypt's Red Sea Governorate. The incident occurred during a diving trip in the Al-Ghadeer area of Wadi Al-Jamal, with 31 tourists of various nationalities and 14 crew members on board.

As of now, 16 individuals have been rescued, and search efforts continue for the remaining passengers. The Red Sea Governorate confirmed that some survivors were airlifted for medical care, while others were secured at the site until a naval frigate could transport them to safety.

The distress signal was received early in the morning, prompting immediate rescue operations involving naval and armed forces. The boat had departed from Porto Ghalib Port and was scheduled to return to Hurghada Marina.
