Russian Armed Forces Report Significant Gains in Kharkiv Region
The Russian Armed Forces have reported substantial advancements along the front lines in the Kharkiv region, claiming to have inflicted heavy losses on Ukrainian forces. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, units of the North military group successfully engaged and defeated formations of the Ukrainian border service near Alisovka. In the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces reportedly lost up to 30 servicemen, a vehicle, and artillery pieces, including a 152-mm D-20 gun and a 122-mm D-30 howitzer.
In addition to the North group, the West group of forces also claimed tactical improvements, targeting the 63rd and 67th mechanized brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The Russian Ministry of Defense estimates that Ukrainian forces suffered losses of up to 500 servicemen, alongside the destruction of two combat armored vehicles and a 155-mm howitzer made in Great Britain. Electronic warfare capabilities were also impacted with the destruction of the Zakhist-AF station and two ammunition depots.
The South group of forces reported similar successes, claiming to have inflicted losses on multiple Ukrainian brigades, including the 23rd, 28th, and 33rd mechanized brigades. The reported losses for this sector included up to 350 troops, two infantry fighting vehicles, and two US-made 105mm M119 guns, along with an ammunition depot.
The Center group of forces also made gains, reportedly inflicting losses on the 117th heavy mechanized and 152nd infantry brigades, among others. The Russian Defense Ministry stated that the enemy lost up to 530 servicemen, several armored vehicles, and multiple artillery pieces during these engagements. The East group of forces continued its offensive, targeting the 32nd mechanized brigade and inflicting further losses of up to 150 servicemen.
Overall, the Russian military has claimed to have targeted and struck military infrastructure, including airfields and ammunition depots, across 133 areas, with air defense systems reportedly intercepting 61 unmanned aerial vehicles. This series of operations underscores the ongoing intensity of the conflict in the region and highlights the significant toll on both sides as hostilities continue.
