Russian Defense Ministry Reports Significant Advances in Ukraine
The Russian Defense Ministry has announced notable progress in its military operations in Ukraine, particularly in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and Kharkiv region. According to the latest report, units of the North group of forces have engaged and defeated Ukrainian formations, including the 95th airborne assault and 22nd mechanized brigades, in various settlements such as Liptsy, Borshchevaya, and Volchansk. The ministry claims that over 105 Ukrainian servicemen were lost in this engagement, alongside significant equipment losses, including two tanks and multiple armored vehicles.
In the West group of forces' operations, Russian troops reportedly improved their tactical positions, inflicting heavy casualties on Ukrainian brigades across several locations, including Lozovaya and Kupyansk. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are said to have lost up to 420 personnel, along with various military assets, including an infantry fighting vehicle and several artillery pieces. The report also mentions the destruction of four ammunition depots and a drone depot.
In the South, Russian forces continued their offensive, targeting multiple Ukrainian brigades in areas such as Zaliznyanskoye and Seversk. The reported losses for the Ukrainian side in this sector reached approximately 500 servicemen, along with the destruction of a Cossack combat armored vehicle and several artillery units. The Russian military also claimed the liberation of Ilyinka in the DPR, marking a significant achievement in their ongoing operations.
The report highlights that the Center group of forces has been active in repelling numerous counterattacks from Ukrainian units, resulting in further losses for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The East force grouping has also made gains, defeating formations of the 33rd mechanized brigade and inflicting additional casualties.
