Reckless Driver Arrested in Rennes: Children Left Behind in Disturbing Incident

In a shocking incident in Rennes, Ille-et-Vilaine, a motorist was apprehended after a reckless driving episode that endangered his two young children. The event unfolded on Thursday morning, around 8 a.m., when National Police motorcyclists noticed a vehicle exhibiting erratic behavior on Alexandre Duval Street. The officers signaled for the driver to pull over for a routine check. However, the motorist, instead of complying, accelerated and collided with one of the police motorcycles. Fortunately, the officers managed to maintain their balance and avoid serious injury.

The driver attempted to evade further by reversing his vehicle but ended up hitting the sidewalk, stalling his car. In a desperate move, he abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, leaving his children, aged three and four, unattended in the back seat. It wasn't until he was apprehended by the police that he disclosed the presence of his children. The authorities quickly took custody of the young ones, ensuring their safety before taking the father into custody. The man did not possess a valid driving license, raising further concerns about the incident.
