Moscow Hosts the 26th International Non/Fiction Book Fair

From December 5 to 8, 2024, Moscow is set to host the 26th International Non/Fiction Book Fair at Gostiny Dvor, featuring over 400 participants from various publishing houses, bookstores, and illustrators. This year’s fair promises a diverse array of literature, including classics, youth prose, comics, and popular science, catering to a wide range of literary tastes. Many publishers are offering books at reduced prices, making it an attractive event for book lovers.

Highlights from Participating Publishers

Several prominent publishing houses are showcasing their latest releases and bestsellers. Azbuka-Attikus will present a unique novel by Thai author Uthit Hemamun titled "Storytellers," alongside works from notable Russian authors such as Evgeny Grishkovets and Marina Chufistova. The fair will also introduce a new biographical series about theatre figures, starting with "The Sad Book" by Sofia Pilyavskaya.

Eksmo Publishing House will feature works by award-winning authors like Katya Kachur and Nastasya Renzhina, exploring themes of life, death, and cultural traditions. Additionally, AST will present books by popular Russian authors, emphasizing the growing interest in literature among younger audiences.

Alpina Publisher will unveil Alexey Ivanov's genre-blending novel "Vegetation," while MIF will highlight historical and psychological works, including Igor Luzhetsky's "The Great Burned" and Satoshi Yagisawa's cozy bestseller "Days in the Bookstore Morisaki."

Children's literature is also a focal point, with Samokat presenting adaptations of classic epics and ROSMEN showcasing popular works for young readers. The fair reflects a significant trend in the literary market, with increasing demand for youth novels and engaging stories that resonate with contemporary themes.
