Military expert Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi analyzed the ongoing military situation in the Gaza Strip, highlighting the current tactics used by resistance factions against Israeli forces. He pointed out that the resistance is unable to engage in close-range battles due to the repositioning of Israeli occupation forces. Instead, they are relying on mortar shells and rockets to inflict damage from a distance. Al-Duwairi emphasized that this strategy has caused significant losses to Israel, unlike any experienced in previous conflicts. He noted that the resistance is more effective when engaging from zero distance, utilizing advanced weaponry such as the 'Al-Yassin-105' missile, which has successfully targeted vehicles that remained unharmed in prior wars.
On Thursday, resistance factions announced their successful targeting of Israeli positions in Al-Qarara and Al-Zana, northeast of Khan Yunis, using mortar shells. Reports indicated that a helicopter was dispatched to evacuate injured personnel. Additionally, the Al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas's military wing, launched an assault against Israeli forces, striking the Kissufim base and the Mars military site in the Gaza envelope area with missiles. In response, the Israeli army claimed to have destroyed numerous tunnels along the Philadelphia axis on the Egyptian border, a day after Hamas reported the destruction of three tunnel openings. Al-Duwairi remarked that the Israeli army's video evidence did not clarify the intended use of the tunnels, suggesting that the bombing may have targeted both military and civilian infrastructures.
