RATP's Response and Traffic Disruption
In response to the incident, RATP CEO Jean Castex has called for an immediate internal investigation, emphasizing the need for collaboration and transparency with user representative associations that are part of the RATP Board of Directors. The incident caused significant disruption to RER A line traffic, particularly between La Défense and Nanterre-Ville, with interruptions lasting for several hours. Although traffic resumed between Nanterre-Ville and Nanterre-Préfecture, delays continued on the rest of the line due to the serious nature of the accident. Normal service is expected to resume around 5:30 p.m. as RATP works to restore full operations.
