Raids and Clashes in the West Bank Amid Ongoing Tensions
Israeli occupation forces have intensified their operations in the West Bank, conducting raids and arrests in several towns and villages. Recent clashes have erupted between Israeli forces and Palestinian resistance fighters, particularly in Jenin and Tubas. Local sources reported gunfire directed at the Awarta military checkpoint near Nablus early Thursday morning, indicating heightened tensions in the region.
In a significant operation, Israeli special forces infiltrated the Old City of Nablus, leading to military reinforcements being deployed in various areas, including Hittin Street and Ras al-Ain. During these operations, a young Palestinian man was arrested after Israeli forces surrounded and stormed his home. Additionally, the western part of Beita, south of Nablus, was also targeted, where Israeli forces used light and sound bombs against civilian homes before withdrawing.
Continued Violence and Casualties
The situation escalated further in Jenin, where Israeli forces raided the villages of Taanak and Taybeh, resulting in clashes with local resistance fighters. Reports indicate that military vehicles also entered the towns of Rammana, Anin, and Taybeh, leading to additional arrests. In Tubas, resistance fighters targeted Israeli forces with an explosive device during a raid in Tamoun, sparking further confrontations.
In Al-Khader, south of Bethlehem, Israeli forces stormed the town and deployed in the “Umm Rukba” area, using sound bombs and tear gas against residents. Meanwhile, in Tulkarm, armed clashes erupted after Israeli special forces attempted to surround a house in the Jarad estate, leading to demands for surrender via loudspeakers and the deployment of military reinforcements, including a bulldozer.
These ongoing operations in the West Bank are occurring concurrently with the conflict in the Gaza Strip, which has seen significant casualties. According to official Palestinian data, since October 7, 2023, the violence has resulted in 781 Palestinian deaths and approximately 6,300 injuries, highlighting the severe humanitarian crisis in the region.
