Israel's ongoing bombardment of the Gaza Strip has killed at least 23 Palestinians, exacerbating an already dire humanitarian crisis. Learn more about the impact of the conflict and the international response.

On Monday, the Israeli occupation continued to bomb homes and schools in various parts of the Gaza Strip, resulting in numerous casualties. Medical sources reported that 23 Palestinians were killed in Israeli raids across the region since dawn. The Civil Defense in Gaza confirmed the deaths of five individuals due to shelling in front of Al-Fakhoura School, which is currently housing displaced persons from Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip. The bombardment also targeted a bakery in the area, highlighting the indiscriminate nature of the attacks.

Al Jazeera's correspondent in Nuseirat reported that two Palestinians, including a child, were killed in an Israeli airstrike that struck a group of people northwest of the camp. Additional raids targeted the vicinity of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis. The ongoing Israeli bombardments across various locations in Gaza have resulted in a rising number of martyrs and injuries, contributing to a staggering toll since the onset of the conflict on October 7, 2023.

As of now, the war, supported by the United States, has left over 135,000 individuals dead or wounded, with a significant portion being women and children. More than 10,000 people are reported missing amidst widespread destruction and a dire humanitarian crisis characterized by famine. Despite international outcry and a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire, Israel continues its military operations, disregarding the International Court of Justice's directives to prevent acts of genocide and address the deteriorating situation in Gaza.
