Intruder Targets Nursing Home Residents in Tarn
During the night from Friday to Saturday, an individual entered the private nursing home 'L'Oustal d'En Thibaud' in Labruguière, near Castres, Tarn. Three residents reported being sexually assaulted, according to Castres prosecutor Elodie Buguel. The nursing home, located in a town with just over 6,000 inhabitants, saw five individual rooms visited by the intruder.
Investigation Launched for Home Invasion and Sexual Assault
The victims, three women aged between 87 and 92 years old, described assaults of varying degrees. Two other residents reported that they were asleep and did not see the intruder. The Castres public prosecutor's office has opened an investigation into 'home invasion and sexual assault on a vulnerable person.'
Prosecutor Buguel emphasized that the 'sexual nature of the attacks must be clarified for certain victims,' but noted that the incidents were 'necessarily traumatic' for all involved. Some residents reported being hit on the chest or legs. As of now, the individual responsible has not been apprehended.
- The incident at the 'L'Oustal d'En Thibaud' nursing home has raised serious concerns about the security measures in place for protecting vulnerable residents. The local community in Labruguière, a small town with a population of just over 6,000, is in shock following the events.
- Authorities are urging anyone with information about the intruder to come forward. The investigation aims to provide clarity on the nature of the attacks and bring the perpetrator to justice. The nursing home staff are cooperating fully with the investigation and have increased security measures to prevent any future incidents.
