Hezbollah Launches Drone and Missile Attacks on Israel
Hezbollah has intensified its military operations against Israel, claiming responsibility for a barrage of missile strikes on Haifa and a drone assault on the Ein Shemer base. The group reported that it targeted Israeli positions with high-quality missiles, resulting in the deaths of two Israeli soldiers and injuries to several others. This escalation comes amid ongoing clashes in southern Lebanon, where Israeli forces have been engaged in combat with Hezbollah fighters.
Casualties and Military Responses
The Israeli military reported significant casualties, with the Rambam Hospital confirming the arrival of 12 injured soldiers, including two fatalities from the Golani Force. Over the past 24 hours, the Israeli army has recorded dozens of injuries among its ranks, with a total of 47 soldiers in serious condition. In retaliation, Israeli forces have conducted airstrikes aimed at Hezbollah infrastructure and weapon depots in southern Lebanon, targeting areas such as Toulin, Zawtar al-Sharqiya, and the Bekaa Valley.
Ongoing Conflict and Strategic Developments
The conflict has escalated since October 8, 2023, when Hezbollah began supporting Gaza, leading to a series of exchanges of fire along the Israel-Lebanon border. Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi emphasized the military's commitment to striking Hezbollah decisively, estimating that approximately 1,500 Hezbollah fighters have been killed since the onset of hostilities. As tensions continue to rise, the Israeli army has mobilized additional reserve troops to the front lines, aiming to stabilize the situation in northern Israel.
