Hezbollah Launches Rocket Attacks on Israel Amid Escalating Conflict
Hezbollah has intensified its military operations against Israel, announcing on Saturday that it launched over 100 rockets targeting various military sites across northern Israel and the occupied Syrian Golan Heights. This escalation marks a significant increase in hostilities between the two sides, with Hezbollah confirming direct hits on Israeli military movements at the Fatima Gate and other strategic locations.
The Israeli Home Front Command reported that air raid sirens were activated in northern areas including Upper Galilee and Arab al-Aramshe, as the Israeli army intercepted multiple rockets launched from Lebanon. Reports indicate that a drone was also detected, causing a power outage in Herzliya and resulting in damage to a nursing home, although no injuries were reported.
Israeli Airstrikes and Ground Raids Continue in Response
In retaliation, the Israeli military has conducted extensive airstrikes and ground raids in southern Lebanon. These operations targeted Hezbollah positions and resulted in casualties, including the death of two Lebanese soldiers during an attack on a military site in Kafra. The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported seven fatalities and numerous injuries from the ongoing Israeli bombardments in southern towns.
Hezbollah's spokesperson emphasized that these military actions are only the beginning, asserting that their primary objective is to repel Israeli aggression and protect Lebanese sovereignty. As tensions rise, both sides seem poised for further confrontation, with the potential for significant regional implications.
