Hamas Calls for Arab and Islamic Alliance Against Israeli Aggression
The Islamic Resistance Movement, known as Hamas, has urged the formation of an Arab and Islamic alliance to support the Palestinian people in their struggle for rights. This appeal was made during a conference led by Hamas leader Osama Hamdan, coinciding with an extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh. Hamdan criticized the Arab nations for failing to exert pressure on Israel to halt its military actions in Gaza, calling for increased solidarity through mass protests and actions targeting Israeli embassies.
In his remarks, Hamdan praised Spain for its role in preventing the docking of arms shipments to Israel and acknowledged the efforts of 50 countries, including Turkey, that have urged the UN Security Council to stop weapon sales to Israel. He highlighted recent violent incidents in Amsterdam, where clashes erupted between Israeli fans and Palestinian supporters, as a reflection of the ongoing tensions. Hamdan accused the Israeli occupation, backed by the United States and some European nations, of obstructing peace efforts and committing atrocities against Palestinians.
Ongoing Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza
Hamdan detailed the dire situation in Gaza, where over 1,800 Palestinians have reportedly died due to ongoing military operations. He condemned the Israeli military's strategy, which includes a blockade that restricts humanitarian aid and aims to displace residents from northern Gaza. Hamdan described this approach as a systematic campaign of destruction and starvation, emphasizing that the occupation's actions are tantamount to genocide.
He called for urgent international intervention to stop the violence and allow humanitarian aid to reach those in need. The Hamas leader's statements underscore the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the urgent need for a coordinated response from the Arab and Islamic world to support the Palestinian cause.
