Discover the latest developments in the ongoing conflict as Hamas' Al-Qassam Brigades execute a successful sniping operation, resulting in the death of an Israeli soldier in Khan Yunis. Learn about the implications of these military tactics and the effectiveness of the Al-Ghoul Qassam rifle.

On Monday, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, reported a successful sniping operation that resulted in the death of an Israeli soldier in Khan Yunis, Gaza. This incident marks the third joint operation between Al-Qassam and the Al-Quds Brigades, demonstrating a continued collaboration in their military efforts against Israel.

The sniper attack occurred in the Al-Zinna area, where a Palestinian sniper targeted an Israeli soldier who was taking cover inside a house. The video footage released by the Al-Qassam Brigades showed the sniper hitting his target directly, leading to celebrations among the fighters who proclaimed, “Allahu Akbar.”

In a related report, the Israeli newspaper 'Maariv' confirmed the death of an army sergeant and injuries to two others from a Hamas sniper, underscoring the ongoing violence in the region. The Al-Qassam Brigades have highlighted the effectiveness of their sniper operations, particularly utilizing the locally manufactured Al-Ghoul Qassam rifle, which has a lethal range of up to 2,000 meters.

Despite the lack of a comprehensive count of sniping missions conducted since the onset of the current conflict, Al-Qassam disclosed that as of February 22, they had executed 57 sniping missions, with 34 involving the Ghoul rifle, resulting in significant casualties among Israeli forces. Analysts anticipate that the frequency of such operations may increase in the coming weeks.
