Gaza Conflict: Rising Casualties Amid Ongoing Violence
The Hamas government's health ministry in the Gaza Strip reported on December 23, 2024, that at least 58 people lost their lives in the past 24 hours due to Israeli air strikes. This latest surge in casualties brings the total death toll to 45,317 since the onset of the conflict, which has been ongoing for over 14 months following the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023. Additionally, the ministry stated that 107,713 individuals have been injured during this prolonged period of violence.
The situation in Gaza remains dire, with the humanitarian crisis exacerbated by continuous military actions. The international community continues to call for a ceasefire and a resolution to the conflict, but efforts have so far yielded limited results.
