Occupation forces storm the streets of Bethlehem in the West Bank as violence escalates
A young Palestinian man was shot during the Israeli army's raid on the Deheishe refugee camp, highlighting the ongoing conflict in the region. The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that five Palestinians were injured amid these violent confrontations, which have been exacerbated by the Israeli army's relentless incursions into various towns in the West Bank.
In addition to the injuries, many Palestinians suffered from suffocation due to toxic gas used by the occupation forces during their operations in the town of Al-Khader, south of Bethlehem. Reports indicate that three Palestinians were arrested during the raid on the Deheishe camp, while additional arrests occurred in Aqabat Jaber camp and south of Hebron.
The situation remains dire as Israeli forces continue to storm towns such as Hebron, Yatta, Dura, and Nablus, often providing protection to settlers who have attacked Palestinian communities. Earlier today, seven Palestinians were injured when settlers assaulted the Arab al-Kaabneh Elementary School in al-Ma'arjat, northwest of Jericho.
The Palestinian Prisoners Club reported that since yesterday, the Israeli occupation has arrested 20 individuals, including a child and former prisoners. The escalation of violence in the West Bank has been alarming, especially since the outbreak of the war on Gaza on October 7, which has resulted in the deaths of 704 Palestinians, including 159 children, and injuries to approximately 5,700, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
