Police Clash During Unauthorized Rap Video Filming in Meaux
On the night of December 24, 2024, a clash erupted in the Beauval district of Meaux, Seine-et-Marne, as police attempted to intervene in the unauthorized filming of a rap video. Approximately fifty individuals gathered in a parking lot near the Aquitaine and Argonne buildings, leading to a significant escalation of urban violence. The confrontation began around 10 PM when police arrived to address a motocross rider's reckless behavior, only to be met with projectiles thrown by the crowd.
Injuries and Police Response
During the altercation, two police officers sustained injuries from mortar fire, suffering light burns and bruises. In response to the escalating violence, which included the construction of barricades and the setting of trash cans on fire, police deployed scatter grenades and other defensive measures. Despite the use of force, the situation remained volatile, with multiple police crews, including anti-crime units, being targeted by mortar fire. The disturbances continued until midnight, when calm was finally restored to the area.

The Meaux prosecutor's office has opened an investigation into the incident, focusing on violence against public officials and property damage. As of now, no arrests have been made, and authorities are continuing to gather information regarding the events that unfolded during the unauthorized filming.
