The competition among the top skiers, including the likes of Henrik Kristoffersen and emerging talents such as Steven Amiez, may lead to more thrilling races in future slalom events.

Marcel Hirscher's performance may improve as he gains more experience in competitive skiing again, potentially leading to a more competitive presence in future races.

Clément Noël achieved a remarkable victory in the first slalom of the World Cup season held in Levi, Finland, on November 17, 2024. The 27-year-old French skier dominated the competition, finishing with a time of 59.67 seconds in the first run, just ahead of Swiss skier Loïc Meillard. In the second run, Noël extended his lead, ultimately finishing 80 hundredths of a second ahead of world champion Henrik Kristoffersen, marking his eleventh World Cup win.

Noël's victory comes after a mixed 2023-24 season where he had four podium finishes but no wins. His last victory prior to this was in January 2023 in Schladming, Austria. This win signifies a strong start to the season for the reigning Olympic champion, indicating a potential return to form.

Steven Amiez, another French skier, finished sixth in the competition, showcasing his growth in the sport after a consistent performance last season. Despite finishing third in the first round, Amiez struggled in the second run but remains a promising talent in slalom skiing.

The event also marked the return of former skiing champion Marcel Hirscher, who, after five years of retirement, competed in the slalom but finished 23rd in the first round, 2.59 seconds behind Noël. Hirscher, now racing under the Dutch flag, is still adjusting to the competitive scene after his long hiatus.
