Two high-profile cases in France have recently concluded with significant legal consequences for public figures. YouTuber ExperimentBoy was sentenced for corruption of minors, while former TV host Cyrille Eldin faced legal repercussions for psychological violence against his ex-partner.

YouTuber ExperimentBoy, real name Baptiste Mortier-Dumont, has been sentenced to two years in prison, suspended, for the corruption of minors, following allegations that he sent inappropriate proposals to at least ten minors. The criminal court of Val-de-Briey imposed a three-year ban on contacting the victims and a permanent ban on professions involving minors. The case drew attention after a victim shared their experience on social media, highlighting the impact of the YouTuber's actions on young fans. ExperimentBoy gained fame through his science experiments on YouTube but has not posted since 2020 due to the controversy surrounding his channel.

Cyrille Eldin, the former presenter of Canal +'s 'Petit Journal', received a suspended six-month prison sentence for psychological violence against his ex-partner, Sandrine Calvayrac. Eldin was also convicted for unauthorized possession of a weapon and drug use but was acquitted of making death threats. The court acknowledged the psychological impact on Calvayrac, who described the relationship as toxic and unhealthy. Despite Eldin's denial of the accusations, the court imposed a two-year contact ban with Calvayrac and required him to pay damages.

  • The cases of ExperimentBoy and Cyrille Eldin highlight serious issues regarding the treatment of women and minors in society, particularly in the context of celebrity culture. Both cases have sparked discussions about accountability and the responsibilities of public figures, especially when their actions have harmful effects on vulnerable individuals. In light of these events, there is a growing call for stricter regulations and support systems for victims of psychological and sexual abuse.
