Escalation of Resistance in the West Bank
Military experts indicate a significant evolution in the performance of resistance factions in the West Bank, particularly in their use of explosive devices and remote detonation techniques. Colonel Hatem Al-Falahi, a military and strategic expert, analyzed the recent videos released by these factions, highlighting a tangible qualitative improvement in their operations. This development comes amid increasing tensions fueled by various factors, including the arming of settlers, land seizures, and ongoing security restrictions imposed on the Palestinian population. Al-Falahi warns that these practices could trigger a third intifada or escalate armed actions, as political negotiations appear inadequate under the current circumstances.
The Dual Approach of Israeli Control
Al-Falahi elaborated on the dual strategies employed by the Israeli occupation to maintain control over the West Bank. The first is a military and security strategy implemented by the army and internal security services aimed at suppressing resistance in Palestinian territories. The second strategy, advocated by Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, seeks to extend comprehensive control over Palestinian lands, evidenced by the distribution of approximately 200,000 weapons in the region. This militarization significantly heightens the potential for conflict. Al-Falahi also addressed Israeli claims regarding the existence of explosive device manufacturing facilities and alleged smuggling operations from Jordan and Gaza, suggesting these narratives are often used to justify escalated military actions against Palestinians.
