TF1 Pulls 'Plus belle la vie' and 'Here it all begins' Amid Olympic Games Competition

TF1 suspends 'Plus belle la vie' and 'Here it all begins' from July 29 to August 9 to avoid competing with the Olympic Games. Fans can catch notable episodes on TF1+.

The beloved soap opera Plus belle la vie, encore plus belle faces another hiatus, just six months after its revival by TF1. From July 29 to August 9, the show will be off the air to avoid competing with the Olympic Games broadcast on France Télévisions. The Olympic events, scheduled between 1:50 p.m. and 2:25 p.m., are expected to capture a significant portion of the audience.

Fans of the Mistral district, including characters like Mirta, Luna, and Captain Boher, need not worry alone. The popular series Here it all begins, which focuses on students at a prestigious cooking school, will also be on a break during the same period. Instead, TF1 will air reruns of the summer series Camping Paradis featuring Laurent Ournac.

The decision to pull these shows temporarily stems from the intense competition posed by the Olympics, a major event organized in Paris. TF1 aims to minimize the risk of losing viewers and reduce the costs associated with airing these soap operas during a time when audiences might be more inclined to watch sports.

However, not all TF1 series will face this disruption. Tomorrow Belongs to Us, starring Ingrid Chauvin, Clément Remiens, and Solène Hébert, will continue its regular broadcast schedule at 7:20 p.m. every evening. The usual schedule for the other series will resume after the Olympics on August 12.

This is not the first time Plus belle la vie has been temporarily canceled for sports events. During its previous run on France 3, the show was often taken off the air during Roland Garros and both the summer and winter Olympic Games. This pattern has frustrated many fans, some of whom have voiced their displeasure on social media.

For those who can't wait for the series' return, TF1's streaming platform, TF1+, will offer a selection of the most notable episodes from Plus belle la vie to keep fans engaged during the hiatus.
