Paris Launches 'Thank You' Campaign to Celebrate Olympic Success
In a heartfelt gesture of gratitude, the City of Paris has initiated a major communication campaign to thank all those who contributed to the success of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Officially launched on September 18 and running until October 1, the campaign features the powerful message "Thank You" emblazoned in white capital letters across five iconic photographs from the events. The posters will be prominently displayed throughout the city, with nearly 1,500 installations on flagpoles and low furniture, particularly along the famed Champs-Élysées.
The campaign showcases unforgettable moments from the Games, including the road cycling event on Rue Lepic and the vibrant atmosphere of the triathlon and para-triathlon events. It also highlights the festive sites established by the City, which welcomed over 2.5 million people, creating an exceptional ambiance during the competitions. This initiative follows the earlier "Welcome" campaign that aimed to greet participants and visitors during the Games, which ran from July 24 to September 10.
Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo expressed her sentiments on social media, reflecting on the joy and unity experienced during the summer. She emphasized the importance of maintaining the spirit of togetherness and celebration beyond the Games, urging residents to continue fostering this sense of community. As the city transitions from the Olympic decor, with flags being gradually removed, the iconic Olympic rings at the Eiffel Tower remain a lasting symbol of the event's success, pending final approval from the Société d'exploitation de la Tour Eiffel (SETE).
This campaign not only serves as a means of remembrance for the memorable moments of the Games but also expresses gratitude to athletes and spectators alike. It aims to encapsulate the essence of the Olympic experience, celebrating the collective effort that made the event a resounding success.
