Explosion in Tel Aviv: Residents in Shock
A significant explosion rocked Tel Aviv last night, leaving residents in shock and raising questions about the cause. The incident, which occurred between Thursday and Friday, involved what is suspected to be an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) crashing into the city. The explosion was so powerful that it was heard far away, with residents and eyewitnesses describing the chaotic moments that followed.
Actress Noa Tashvi, who was near the site of the explosion, shared her experience with 'Israel Today': 'We are having a very difficult morning here in Tel Aviv. A UAV landed here without warning. The explosion was very strong, and there is significant destruction around.' Tashvi emphasized the need to move forward despite the traumatic event.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing the UAV approaching before it crashed. 'As usual, we saw planes in the air in the direction of Israel. We thought it was one of them, but after a short time, it reached a height that was intermediate, and we realized something was going to happen. Then there was a loud boom,' one eyewitness recounted.
Authorities Investigate the Incident
The explosion has prompted an extensive investigation by local authorities. The fire and rescue services responded to reports of a vehicle on fire in the city, while the MDA (Magen David Adom) provided medical treatment to two individuals who were slightly injured by shrapnel. These victims, a man around 37 years old and a young woman about 25 years old, were taken to Ichilov Hospital. Additionally, four other people were treated for anxiety.
The IDF is currently examining the details of the incident, and despite initial reports, they have not confirmed the intrusion of a UAV. The Israel Police have also been actively involved, with large forces and police saboteurs arriving at the scene to manage the situation.
Reports of the explosion were widespread, with residents from various parts of the city and surrounding areas, including Bat Yam, Netanya, Or Yehuda, Holon, and Herzliya, hearing the blast. The Fire and Rescue Service received multiple calls about the explosion and a burning car on Shalom Aleichem Street in Tel Aviv-Yafo. Five fire crews were dispatched to extinguish the fire and conduct extensive scans in the area.
