The head of the Syrian interim government, Muhammad al-Bashir, recently discussed the insights shared by former Prime Minister Muhammad al-Jalali regarding the Syrian regime's security structure. Al-Jalali disclosed that during his tenure, he met with Bashar al-Assad only once, highlighting the chaotic state of governance left behind by Assad's abrupt departure from the country. He emphasized that a security office, linked to the security services, was crucial in directing government operations, which contributed to the regime's loss of legitimacy among the populace.
Al-Bashir indicated that the interim government, which is based on the Syrian Salvation Government operating in northwestern Syria, will soon announce its full formation. He outlined that restoring security and stability is the government's top priority. Furthermore, he mentioned that the Syrian Civil Defense (White Helmets) has commenced efforts to clear rubble and restore the electricity network in Homs, marking a significant step towards rebuilding the region.
