Sudanese Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Jibril Ibrahim, has assured citizens that the economy remains stable despite ongoing conflict. He highlighted improvements in revenue collection and the government's commitment to addressing food security challenges.
During a press conference in Port Sudan, Ibrahim reported that the country has adequate production of corn and wheat to meet consumption needs. The government's initiative includes purchasing farmers' produce to ensure distribution across states.
The Minister also emphasized the importance of providing free food to those in need and the establishment of a banking wallet by the Central Bank to facilitate access to currency for essential goods. He reiterated efforts to stabilize the exchange rate and reform the banking system impacted by the war.
