Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jaber of Sudan's Sovereignty Council announced significant advances by the Sudanese Armed Forces against the Rapid Support Forces, asserting control over supply lines and dismissing claims of RSF strength. Jaber emphasized the importance of Sudan's relationship with Egypt amidst the conflict.

Sudan Army Gains Ground Against Rapid Support Forces

The ongoing conflict in Sudan has seen significant developments as Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jaber, a member of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, announced that the Sudanese Armed Forces are successfully advancing against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). Jaber stated that the RSF's supply lines are now vulnerable to the army's control, indicating a shift in the balance of power in regions such as Khartoum, Darfur, and Sennar. The RSF, led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, commonly known as Hemedti, is reportedly retreating, having recognized their impending defeat.

Jaber emphasized that the army's operations are progressing well, with forces in southern Bahri nearing a critical junction with units from Karari and Kadero. He expressed confidence that the army would reclaim territories previously held by the RSF, which he described as rebels who are increasingly isolated and lacking support. He dismissed Hemedti's claims of recruiting one million soldiers as mere propaganda, reflecting a lack of awareness of the evolving situation on the ground.

Accusations and Regional Dynamics

In the wake of accusations from Hemedti regarding Egypt's involvement in the conflict, Jaber refuted these claims, labeling them as attempts to mask the RSF's losses. He stressed that the Sudanese military's tactical operations have drawn admiration from international military experts, highlighting the army's capabilities. Jaber asserted that if Egypt had been involved, the conflict would have been resolved swiftly, given its military strength.

He further explained that Hemedti's accusations serve to distract from the RSF's failures and are part of a broader strategy to incite regional unrest. Jaber indicated that the RSF's attempts to manipulate the situation could lead to international intervention under the guise of protecting civilians, but he remained optimistic about the Sudanese state's ability to counter such moves.

Strengthening Sudan-Egypt Relations

Despite the ongoing conflict, Jaber reaffirmed Sudan's commitment to strengthening its relationship with Egypt, viewing it as vital for national security. He noted that both nations share a common destiny and that Sudan aims to enhance military and diplomatic ties to ensure stability in the region. Jaber expressed confidence that the rebellion would not disrupt the longstanding relationship between Sudan and Egypt, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in the face of external challenges.
