Severe Weather Hits Buenos Aires and France: What You Need to Know
In recent days, winter has unleashed its worst conditions across the globe, with Buenos Aires and France experiencing severe weather phenomena. The City of Buenos Aires has been plagued by cloudy, cold, and rainy days, attributed to cyclogenesis, which has occurred twice in less than a month. As a result, nine provinces are under alert for storms, wind, and snowfall. The National Meteorological Service (SMN) has warned residents to brace for isolated storms and rain throughout Wednesday, August 21, with temperatures hovering between 9 and 11 degrees Celsius.
Storm Alerts and Weather Warnings in Argentina
The SMN has issued yellow-level alerts for dangerous meteorological conditions across various provinces. Areas affected by storm alerts include nearly all of Entre Ríos, the western and central regions of Corrientes, and parts of Santa Fe and Chaco. Additionally, strong winds are expected in Jujuy and eastern sectors of Salta, Catamarca, and La Rioja. Heavy snowfall is anticipated in the Mendoza mountain range, affecting areas from San Carlos to Malargüe.
France's Weather: Sunshine to Storms
In contrast, France is experiencing a brief respite from storms, with Thursday expected to be the most beautiful day of the week, featuring sunny weather and summer temperatures. However, this pleasant weather will be short-lived, as Météo France warns of incoming disturbances bringing rain to Brittany by Friday. Saturday will see strong storms progressing from the southwest to the northeast, with potential hail and violent gusts affecting regions like Occitanie and Burgundy. As temperatures drop across the northern half of France, thunderstorms are expected to continue into Sunday.
